I’m Emily and I’m a Flight Attendant based in London, UK. I’ve been travelling for almost 18 months now, in that time I have visited over 25 countries in 5 continents including 8 US states. I have taken trips to places I had only ever dreamed of visiting, and some places I never even knew existed!
I definitely have my favourites! Cape town and Chicago definitely rate joint first on my list of top ten destinations, with Singapore a being a close second. All three of these wonderful cities are so different but they each have so much culture running through them and, despite visiting each of them many times over, I still find something new to take my breath away.
I’ve been umming and ahhing about creating a blog for a while now, I didn’t go to university so I worried that perhaps my writing skills would not be up to scratch but hey ho, I’m enjoying myself and that matters most, right? I’ll give it my best shot!
As I’m usually travelling with work I don’t get a lot of time in destinations, this can sometimes be a bit overwhelming and most of the time I’m jet lagged but I try to make the most of my visiting time there, as it could be several months before I’m back again. Therefore, my blog will consist mostly of travel advice from my own experiences, lot’s of do’s and a few don’ts for managing the time you have as best as possible, maybe I could help with packing tips too as after 18 months I have finally mastered the art of packing light(er)!
With such a short space of time in a new place I believe its important to immerse yourself in everything different about it, I find one of the best ways to get a real ‘taste’ for the destination is by trying different foods. I love food! From eating snails in Shanghai to drinking pinotage and devouring steak in South Africa, I’ll be able to show you some amazing and affordable spots to try the city’s local favourites!
I’m going to treat this blog as a (sort of) diary, where I can collate all my knowledge and photos of the places I have explored, for us all to enjoy! I tried out scrap-booking things I had collected from my travels in 2017, but that quickly went downhill when I realised that the cutting and sticking skills I learnt at primary school weren’t as good as they used to be! So this is my second attempt at documenting my experiences, fingers crossed it works out better this way!
